Tuan Nguyen

For the past 14 years Mr. Tuan Nguyen has been involved in the martial arts.  Twelve of those 14 years have been with the Korean style of martial arts.  "One of the neatest things about training in the martial arts is that I learn something new every time I come to class, regardless of how long I've been training," says Mr. Nguyen.  Originally from the American Karate style, Mr. Nguyen found a truer fit with the Korean style of martial arts.  He has had the opportunity to train with and under some of most talented martial artist around.  These include GM T. S. Im, GM J. R. West, Dr. He-Young Kimm, GM Rich Hodder, GM Song Chol, Master Don Kirsch, Master Carolyn Moser, Master Bill Grey, Master Instructor Chris Pruetz, Mr. Lloyd Martin, Ms. Jo Howard, and many others.  These people, in one way or another, has helped influenced his training and respect for the arts.

Below is a chronological time lime of Mr. Nguyen's study of the martial arts:

1991-1993         Trained under Bill Grey's American Society of Karate system and earned Green Belt.

1992-1999         Trained under Mr. Mike Kuns in Hapkido & Taekwondo.

1998              Promoted to 1st dan in TKD and Hapkido (USKMAF).

2000-present      Trained with Master Carolyn Moser in Taekwondo.

2004-2005         Trained under Grandmaster Rich Hodder in Taekwondo.

2004-present      Trained under Mr. Lloyd Martin in Hapkido.

2005              Promoted to 2nd dan in Hapkido (USKMAF).

2005              Opened Korean Martial Arts of Santa Fe in Santa Fe, TX.

Mr. Nguyen enjoys teaching and hopes to pass along the knowledge and passion for Korean Martial Arts to as many people as possible.  One of the most encouraging things to see, as an instructor, is the progression of the students abilities and how the martial arts has helped changed their lives for the better.
